I keep on telling my students not to translate into English literally.When they write or speak in English they do it as in Spanish and the result is terrible!. The other day, one of my students in Bachillerato wrote "Last Sunday I went to the saw", he had looked up the word in the dictionary and he had chosen the wrong one! Anyway, isn´t it easier to say "I went to the country"?
